Answers to some of the common questions we get:
Skips are delivered between 07.00 and 17.00 Monday to Friday. For a more specific time of delivery, please ask one of our team when ordering your skip.
All skips are on hire for 7 days unless otherwise arranged and will be collected on the seventh day. Skips can however, be collected earlier if required, or if you do need the skip for longer, we can extend the hire period, this though may incur an additional fee. Please call to enquire.
Skips placed on the road require a permit from the council and vary in price depending on the specific councils rates. Once you have booked your skip, a member of our team will apply for the skip permit on your behalf. Additionally, please note;
- Permits validity vary depending upon the location and council
- Applications can take from 7-10 full working days to process and be granted
- Local councils DO NOT allow skips to be placed on grass verges
No permit is required if the skip will be placed upon your drive, lawn, or other private area.
All skips must be paid for prior to hire, either by debit/credit card over the telephone or cash to the driver on delivery.
All skips should be filled no higher than the height of the sides, ensuring a level load. If you overfill your skip, you risk us not being able to remove it. Overloaded skips are unsafe to load onto our lorries and put the public at risk whilst in transit. Please ensure that you adhere to our policy for the safety of our drivers and other road users.

BSH Recycling are proud to divert 99% of all waste from landfill. Plastics, metals, wood, cardboard, paper, green waste, soil, concrete and brick are all recycled or reused. Waste which cannot be recycled or reused is sent as fuel for energy production.
All skips are booked as a default 7 day hire, however, if you fill and need your skip removing sooner, give one of our team a call on 01778 252 030 to request an early collection.
All skips have a 1 week hire period which can be extended at a cost of £24 per week. To extend the hire period, please ring the BSH office on 01778 394 44 to speak to a member of our team.

Here at BSH Recycling, our contract with every customer is a written agreement, demonstrating an organisations provision for waste disposal. BSH Recycling do not tie customers into lengthy contracts, instead we deliver a simple and well executed service, showing the faith we hold in the package we provide.
The table on our wheelie bin page, gives approximate measurements of our bins and a guide to their capacity. Should you find that the bin you have isn’t right, simply call us and we can change it to suit accordingly. BSH Recycling offer a flexible service, capable of dealing with unforeseen circumstances quickly and efficiently. If an extra empty on your bin is needed, with a quick phone call to our office any adjustments can be made. Furthermore, if your standard weekly collection is not necessary, just let us know.
Please give thought to access when requesting a bin. Access must be wide enough to allow the bin to be safely manoeuvred by our operative.
As long as access can be gained to bins upon their day of collection, customers can store and secure their bins in whichever way they wish to suit their circumstances.

If you have filled your skips and require another, do not hesitate to contact us, simply request and pay for an exchange. One of our drivers will arrive at site, remove the full skip and drop a replacement in the same place.
You will need 9FT to allow our vehicles access. It will also need to be free from low hanging branches and power lines to prevent obstruction.
No, our skips once placed cannot be moved unless by a BSH operator. Skips sited by our delivery lorries will have place the skip in such a way that collection will be straight forward. If you move the skip, you may inadvertently place the skip in a way that makes it problematic or even impossible to be picked up and taken away.
BSH Recycling drivers are all trained professionals. Drivers are able to drop skips in requested locations at their discretion, and will only put a skip in a safe location with the required access.
The Class 1B supplied by BSH Recycling is a recycled product and is comprised of a mixture of concrete and brick, crushed to produce a product that is between 0mm-60mm.
Our Class 1B is ideas as an inexpensive sub base for landscaping, drainage layers, hard-standings and some building projects.
Yes. The recycled product supplied by BSH Recycling is certified.
The amount ordered will dictate our preferred delivery method. Anything under 8 tonnes of Class 1B will be delivered in a skip and then tipped on a suitable area. Anything over 8 tonnes will be delivered in one of our 8 wheel tipper lorries which have a capacity of 20 tonnes.
No, the recycled screened soil is not certified.
The recycled screened soil is filtered through 10mm screening plates to remove large stones and rubbish. Despite this, it is a recycled material so may contain some small stones which cannot be taken out in the filtering process.
Our minimum order quantity is 1 ton.
The BSH grab lorry is a 32 tonne, 8 wheeled vehicle with a maximum capacity of 16 tonnes.
The main purpose of the BSH grab lorry is to remove large quantities of soil and hardcore from site. Despite this, it is also able to remove mixed waste at an extra charge.
You will need 10FT to allow our vehicles access. It will also need to be free from low hanging branches and power lines to prevent obstruction.
All grab services must be paid for prior to hire, either by debit/credit card over the telephone or cash to the driver on arrival.
At full extension, the grab can reach 6 meters.
If the BSH grab lorry is able pull alongside the obstacle, it is able to reach material over a height of approx. 10ft
If the material is accessible, it may take approximately 15-20 minutes to load a grab lorry however this can differ, depending upon the material and access.

Man and van services must be paid for prior to the removal of waste, either by debit/credit card over the telephone or cash to the driver.
The man and can service removes large items that are too large to dispose of by other means and is a cost effective and quick alternative if a conventional skip is not an option. With the man and van service, if you do not have a driveway, this isn’t a problem and you will not have to pay for a permit.
Any large items that are non-hazardous can be removed and disposed of. These include;

The BSH tipper lorries are 32 tonne, 8 wheeled vehicle with a maximum capacity of 20 tonnes, perfect for transporting and unloading large quantities of inert material quickly.
You will need 10FT to allow our vehicles access. It will also need to be free from low hanging branches and power lines to prevent obstruction.
Tipper lorries can remove soil, brick and rubble in 20 tonne loads, making it an economic alternative to skips.
The tipper service must be paid for prior to hire, either by debit/credit card over the telephone or cash to the driver on arrival.
